Candescence is the new work by the Australian composer Nick Davis. It
is an album that illuminates his musical career. The composer on this album
has adopted a style that is much more classic in form than the one we are accustomed
to, but without forgetting distinguishing characteristics such as the brightness
of his music.
For the elaboration of this work, he has moved to the use of classical instruments
such as the violin cello and flute, but without doubt, the predominant element
is the piano. Harmonious compositions accompany us during the ten pieces that
comprise this disc. Light musical themes accompanied by other more serious ones
give lustre to a work that marks a point of inflection in the career of this
composer.
Stand out tracks like "In My Heart" expresses with music his own emotions
and makes us remember ours. "Return of the Brave" takes us back to
the 17th century and "The Fallen", the closing track, makes an exceptional
final statement to Candescence. Without a doubt, this work represents
a great step forward in the musical career of this Australian composer. A new
flame has been lit in his musical career and we hope that it remains alight
for a long time.
